Actress Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra's team Rajasthan Royals lost their first match of IPL 2010 to the Mumbai Indians. The Mumbai Indians, owned by Nita and Mukesh Ambani, had won the toss, elected to bat, and made 212 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. In reply, the Rajasthan Royals team could only score 208/7, and lost by five runs.
The match had generated a lot of excitement as it was billed as a battle between bowler Shane Warne, of the Rajasthan Royals, and batsman Sachin Tendulkar, of the Mumbai Indians. Ultimately, there was no showdown as Tendulkar was out before Warne came to bowl.
Of course, the presence of Shilpa Shetty cheering for her team generated a good deal of glamour as always. Unfortunately, it didn't help the Rajasthan Royals win.
